All of Fouse Elementary recently gathered along the perimeter of the gym for the school’s first-ever assembly celebrating students’ positive behavior over the past month.

Families of elementary students at Westerville City Schools are invited to attend a Mental Health 101 presentation by Concord Counseling Services at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 11 at Hawthorne Elementary’s gym.

After several months into the school year, Minerva France Elementary third-grade teacher Maria Morgan had a clear picture of her class last year — who was on track, who was ready for a challenge, and who needed extra support to catch up.

All across Westerville City Schools, students are stepping into their school media centers to dive into stories, collaborate with each other and receive a variety of lessons that help them navigate a world where information is everywhere. 

Students from four WCSD schools — Minerva Park Middle School and Cherrington, Pointview and Minerva France elementaries — discovered how instruments create unique sounds, how composers craft stories with melody and rhythm and how music travels through waves and vibrations in the air as part of the Sound Lab Symphony concert Wednesday at the Ohio Theatre.

Starting Sept. 15, elementary schools throughout the District will be rolling out various activities and events to build community and foster a sense of belonging in honor of Start with Hello Week.
