An immersive planetarium experience at Emerson Elementary, a music residency at Minerva Park Middle School and a food and resource pantry at Heritage Middle School are among the six proposals awarded a 2026 Spring Grant from the Westerville Education Foundation (WEF). 

The Westerville Education Association honored educators at its annual Spring Reception on Wednesday, recognizing the 2025-26 Educators of the Year and celebrating the 28 educators who have retired this year or will retire this spring.

Fourth-graders at Minerva France Elementary visited the Ohio Statehouse Friday to bring to life their lessons in their state government unit. They toured the statehouse, learned its history, visited Senate and House of Representatives chambers — all while making connections to the artwork they’ve seen in Wit and Wisdom language arts curriculum. 

Fouse and Minerva France elementaries have received the Purple Star designation for their commitment to serving military-connected students and their families, while Westerville South High School’s Purple Star designation has been renewed for another three years, officials with the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce announced this week.

Ten Westerville City Schools students received top honors in the 2025-26 Ohio PTA Reflections award program, which recognizes student achievement in literature, music, dance, film production, photography, music composition and visual arts. 

The future kindergarteners of Westerville City Schools are invited to explore what awaits them when they begin classes in the fall.
