Westerville Parent Council and Roush Honda of Westerville have announced the recipients of the 2025-26 Great Educator Mentor (GEM) Award, which is presented to individuals who go the extra mile to make a positive impact in the classroom and schools.

More than 120 Westerville elementary and middle school students built their own Lego designs as part of Westerville City Schools’ 20th Annual LEGO Competition on Feb. 28 at Westerville North High School. 

Students in 10 schools participated in the 2025-26 WCSD PTA Reflections award program, which recognizes student achievement in literature, music, dance, film production, photography, music composition and visual arts.

If Cherrington Elementary fifth-grader Katherine Kwawuvi had to pick an instrument to play at Blendon Middle School this fall, she knew it was going to be a stringed one. 

Parent groups and booster organizations spent 65,510 hours supporting Westerville City Schools students in and out of the classroom last year. 

As the Olympics have captured the world’s attention, educators across the District are turning the Games into a launchpad for learning — sparking students’ curiosity about new sports, distant countries and the history behind the competition.
